Nuclear Risk Insurers (NRI) believe in giving back to the community and fostering a culture of social responsibility. As part of this, we have a new programme, which allows our colleagues to take an additional day of leave to participate in activities that benefit the community, such as volunteering.
For our inaugural Community Day, the NRI team decided to come together and participate in the ‘Cook for The Homeless’ event, organised by the School of Wok.
This event provided us with a opportunity to learn new culinary skills while making a positive impact on those in need.
Under the guidance of a professional chef, we prepared and cooked a delicious three-course meal, featuring Thai Spring Rolls, Thai Green Curry, and a Glass Noodle Salad. Not only did we get to enjoy our culinary creations, but we also made double portions to donate to London-based food charities.
The menu was uploaded to an app, allowing local charities to select the food they needed. Our meals were ultimately collected by The Ernest Foundation and were thoroughly enjoyed by the recipients.
This experience was incredibly rewarding for our team, and we are proud to have contributed to the community in such a meaningful way.
We look forward to participating in more Community Day events in the future and continuing to support local charities and initiatives.
